Even if you don't have a DVD player, we strongly recommend getting a copy of your production on disc anyway - simply because videotape does not last! Image degradation on videotape can begin very quickly - almost immediately, and even under good conditions, life expectancy of videotape is only about 15-20 years!! DVD stands for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc. Just as with CD's, DVD's are easy to manage and store, and you can go directly to the parts (scenes) you want without the need to rewind or fast forward. They can also be copied without the quality loss of videotape, and they'll last much longer than videotape. |
