Digitization and scanning services are most often used to:

  • Duplicate images onto CD or DVD
  • Ensure longevity by storing pictures in multiple locations
  • Share or email images
  • Manipulate, re-print or otherwise use & enjoy digital photographs

35mm Slides
Your 35mm slides can be scanned using two different scanner methods. Most videos are done using traditional scanning, which offers very good resolution. It is perfect for video productions and general consumer work.

We also offer Super High Resolution scanning, using an advanced technology machine dedicated and built for scanning slides alone. In addition to the power to achieve resolution levels previously achieved only by drum scanners, powerful software can be used to remove dust, mold & wear marks from the slides. Color and brightness are also optimized to provide a finished image that will amaze you.

We can scan in your 35mm slides for you and save them for you on a DVD for safe keeping.
Color and black and white photographs are scanned, color balanced and digitally enhanced in-house.
Photographs & Documents
Color and black & white photographs are scanned, color balanced, and digitally enhanced in-house. In addition to pictures, you can make electronic images of documents or objects of various sizes in your presentation.

Motion Picture Film Digitization (8mm - Super 8mm - 16mm)
If you’re here because you’re re-doing your films from inferior methods, you probably don’t need to read further. If you’re new to shopping for this type of work, however, there are a couple of things you may want to know.

Most importantly, there many methods used to transfer film to video. Many are inferior, and in our opinion a very poor investment when trying to take a “current condition snapshot” for DVD. There are old "single-light," single CCD machines (Like "Elmo" machines that haven't been made in years), old multiplexers, or even the old technique of simply projecting the image on a screen and taping it with a camcorder. All of these create at least some "flicker" because they do not employ “time-based generation” to compensate for differences in frame rates between film & video.

If you're spending the time & money to preserve your films on DVD, we think you should do it right!

If you're spending the time & money to preserve your films on DVD, we think you should do it right! If you're looking for general, inexpensive corner store "transfers," this is not the place.

The greatest care is taken to ensure quality and the safety and preservation of your original materials - especially 8mm home movie film. We properly package and ship your films (Fed Ex) to one of the best and most trusted film transfer labs in the country - located in Hollywood, CA. There, your film is treated, cleaned and lubricated. It is then digitized for DVD encoding using high-end methods that far surpass anything done by "home movie transfer houses" that you may have seen.

If you know you want quality & DVD, and are trying to manage cost, the best way is to cut down the amount of film you’re processing. You can do this by digitizing only a portion of the film now, or by editing out the sections that are not so critical. To actually splice & edit, you should use an old editor or viewer. If you don’t have one, we may be able to loan you one, though we can also help you find & purchase one if you have a large amount of film to look through. They haven’t been made in years, but we do know a preservationist who collects them.

Note: Viewing your old home movies on your old projector is not recommended and can cause damage to your film for a variety of reasons. We can assist you with preliminary editing using a low wattage viewer/editor.
